Guybson Wins NAGA Championship

Congratulations to instructor and friend Guybson Sa who over the weekend won the NAGA Championship in Atlanta, GA! NAGA (North American Grappling Association) puts on the largest grappling and submission tournaments in the world. You can always count on having tough competitors from all over the states.

Guybson’s win is very impressive, even though he makes it look easy. Guybson is a tough competitor and he adds this Championship Belt to his long list of accomplishments and trophies including previous NAGA Championships and 5 World Championships!

Talent Show – Feb 2012

We had a lot of talent at our talent show! Some of our talented acts included a musical performances, horse jumping, joke telling and jump roping among other things! It was a fun and exciting time for both participants and spectators as everyone shared some of their talents.

Performing in front of people is a great way for children to boost their confident! Whether it’s martial arts they are performing or some other hidden talent, our goal at Kime Karate is to bring out the best in every child.

Participants were voted on by the other participants to decide the winner. There was very tough competition, with the winner decided by only one vote!

Congratulations to our winner Lena who sang a song in Turkish to win the talent show!

St Jude Fundraiser 2011

Kime Karate recently completed a fundraising event for St. Jude Children’s Hospital in which students raised $2,469.85! The hospital staff was very pleased at the amount we were able to raise and the timeliness in which we were able to complete the event. The money we raised will go towards various treatments and tests which will help children in need.

Kime Karate is a wonderful community school where students are encouraged to participate in community service and charity events as part of their ongoing training. Martial arts is more than physical conditioning, it can effect every part of our lives in extremely powerful ways. We believe that martial arts training should positively affect not only those training, but those around them as well.

Helping our community and giving back through various community events and charities is a great way our students learn that they can make a difference. When we all pull together to help one another, we all benefit. Volunteering and donating is a great way have a positive impact on our community. Not to mention it is a great feeling to know that something you have done will benefit someone else.

We are the community martial arts school and we believe in working towards the betterment of the people around us. Improving the community, one black belt at a time.

Deployed dad makes surprise visit

A father and a soldier, Cpt. Zielinksi having served half of his tour in Afghanistan got to make a surprise visit home to spend time with his family and watch his son get promoted. It was definitely an extra special night for everyone at Kime Karate and especially for their family, which is back together for the first night in 6 months. It was a great opportunity for everyone to thank just one of the people giving up a lot to serve their country.

Cpt. Zielinski is right that vet’s return every day, he didn’t want a big deal being made over it. I hope that every vet that returns home get’s the opportunity to be made a big deal of. You may be one of many who are serving, and each one of you is a hero. Thank you.

We are constantly striving to improve everything that we do, our martial arts, our health & fitness as well as how we conduct our business and relate to our students.
