Small Changes Can Make A Big Difference

We often think that it will take a huge change to effect our lives, but this is not necessarily true. It is true that big changes can have big effects, but sometimes that big change you are looking to make can seem insurmountable.. I am constantly making small changes to make what I already do even better! Little changes to what I already know is really good.

Constant and Never Ending Improvement

This is a mindset sometimes referred to as CANI or Constant and never ending improvement. This is one of the many reasons why we have a fantastic martial arts program and why our students are constantly improving and when they compete, consistently take 1st place at tournaments. Once you have something that is really good, it is the small changes that make big differences and make something great!

Don’t give up on your big goals!

When something seems difficult and impossible to accomplish, look to see what small changes you can make to reach your goal. These small changes add up! It is the small things that we sometimes neglect that can make a big difference in the outcome. Small changes can make the difference from failure to success or good to great! I remember when what I do now with ease and teach in class was extremely difficult. Now I’m often told that what we do at my school is amazing and yet I am not satisfied.  It is this drive to constantly improve that makes champions. After all, good enough is the enemy of excellence.

Thank you for showing us how we can succeed by adopting a growth mindset (Carol Dweck wrote a wonderful book about this very thing!) Perfection is unattainable…Improvement is always possible.

We learn more in class than just martial arts!
